A Farewell, but not goodbye!

Dearest fans, Casgra here. My apologies for not having already said an official goodbye. I've enjoyed creating adult Comics for the past eight years. Eight years since the first comic landed on the shelves of Renderotica. I still remember how exited I was when I published my very first comic. What was that comic called? After that one came the Roachcock series. Then Lustragona, Nocturnal Invasions, etc.. But when Bridget was born that's when I knew I had created a special character. But it all started with Garbrielle, only she was not so much in the public eye.

I had started working with Gabrielle before anyone even heard of Casgra. In 2012 I downloaded Daz studio and Gabrielle was my favourite. I used her for a lot of my renders. Many scenarios. It was this time that I discovered I could use cameras rather than just render from the view port. With cameras I could start creating scenes and the depth of field was pretty cool. Lighting and shadows, oh wow, I can really have fun with this too. It became an incredibly fun hobby. But what about selling? Were my images adequate? There was only one way to find out.

One morning while browsing the internet for places to sell my comics, I came across CGbytes. I sent them an email. The store manager told me to send them a few of my best samples. So I did. I was hoping they were good enough to be aproved. So I waited and after just a few days I got an email welcoming me to CGbytes. Holy shit! I was ecstatic! After I was explained the process, I was so excited to submit my very first comic, but there was one problem. I had nothing. I wasn't even sure I had what it takes. I was just trying my luck at this point. I dug into my folder of renders and I found a short series I did about a goblin spying on two fairies. They had many outfits, (one of the things I enjoyed about rendering; trying different outfits!) So I got this idea. What if this goblin corrupted these innocent fairies, like turning them against each other. Yes that could work!

Well it didn't make a lot of sales. What was I expecting? Who was I? And what kind of name is casualgrapher anyway? I was just starting out and I know I was far from being a great artist. Not even a good artist. Maybe just an ok one. So since my stuff is fairly simple. I don't concern myself with any special effects, why not call myself casual artist, casual guy, casual graphics, casualgrapher, ok I can work with that, and then later I adopted the name casgra, which is short for casualgrapher or casualgraphics. TaDa!

Fast forward a few years and several hit and miss comics, I created, My Secret Goblin Obsession and boom goes the dynamite. Bridget was a hit! It was my most succsful comic at that time. She was perfect. The contrast between her beauty and ugly goblins was spot on! From there I launched a few series with old Mack and his friends, Strange Encounters, an Alien abduction, and in the midst of all these well recieved comics, other great characters and stories were born. Characters like Sue-Anne, Alyssa, Mabel, Vera and Sophia. Stories like Otherworldly, It Follows, Carnal Appetite, When Goblins Take Over, to name a few. It was fun! It was a lot of fun. It's especially rewarding when you guys tell me how much you enjoy it.

But the time has come for me to move on to other ventures and let someone else take over. Someone like Elly who is truly awesome! I'll still be doing commissions since it takes up a far less of my time compared to creating full length comics. And I'll also be a creative consultant to Elly. So don't worry! The Casgra art of story telling that you all have come to love will still be alive and well.

Now allow me to take this opertunity to say thank you. Thank you, for all the support you gave me over these past eight years. Thank you, for your kind words of encouragement. Thank you, for your genuine loyalty. Thank you, for believing in me. Casgra is Casgra because of you guys!

So long my friends. This is Casgra. Take care!
